This bed has been a long time in the making and I’m really happy to finally be posting it…I hope you enjoy it. It has been tested by multiple people and it works from the base game through Generations without any problems. It’s a contemporary style but it looks good in shabby chic (see the picture in the LOVE sculpture thread to see an example) and modern spaces also. Download underneath the first picture.
The Pets patch messed up the animations on many items that Sims interact with, beds among them. Thanks to Grant at Sims 3 Stuff n Things there is now a fix for this. If you have made a bed and it needs to have the animations fixed you can find out how here: Tutorial to Fix Bed Animations.
If you’ve patched up you should redownload the bed. I’m leaving the first link for people without this patch. The second one is the one you need.
The bed has four recolorable channels and three selections in Buy each of which allows you to recolor the bed in a different way. It has 12 slots which allow you to place things on it for decorative purposes without using an OMSP. The Sims will still use the bed if things are in the slots although, depending on what they’re doing, this can look kinda funny.
The animations work pretty much exactly like the EA bed animations do. The only exception is that the pillows get slightly more angular if a Sim relaxes on the bed. Patterns tile very nicely on all parts of the bed. The bed costs $450. The vertex count is 2352 and the face count is 2402. The EA bed it was cloned from has a vertex count of 2360 and a face count of 2770.
Thank you to Peter and Inge Jones, Wes Howe, Atavera, and Cmomoney for all their work on the Sims 3 tools that allowed me to make this bed. It was made using s3oc, s3pe, and Milkshape. It was baked with Blender.
